I thought that since there’s been a lack of new projects posted this week, that I should show you what I’ve been working on.

First up is a Christmas present.  My husband has 4 sisters and it gets harder every year to think of gifts for them.  I like to do handmade gifts because it’s easier on the budget and you can personalize them.  So, I can’t say anymore than that, as some of his sisters may be reading this, but here’s one project I’ve been busy with.

Please excuse the non-SU supplies for this.  I try to pick everything to match the personality of the recipient, and this paper from my stash just caught my eye.

The other thing I’ve been working on is my paper cake for my table setting that I mentioned in this post.  I printed the pattern onto cardstock and cut out each cake slice with my scissors and I am now in the process of assembling each piece and each layer.  Here’s what I’ve got so far.

The pieces can be rigged so that each slice can open to hide some treats inside, which would make a great centerpiece/guest favor for a wedding or baby shower.  I haven’t decided yet if I’m going to leave the ends to be opened or seal them closed.

And, yes that is my washing machine.  My stamping area is in my laundry room, and at the moment the only flat surface with enough space to set up the cake is on top of my washer.  I may need to do a bit of cleaning sometime soon.
