Faux Suede Technique Sample

Okay, I’m a little bit slow to get this finished, but I’m finally able to show you a sample using the faux suede technique I posted about last week. It is really super easy to do – exactly like Jackie’s tutorial I posted here: Faux Suede Technique.

I used Chocolate Chip and Close to Cocoa for this card. The image is from the For Father set (from the last mini catalog) stamped in Staz-on Timber Brown on Whisper White card stock; I colored it with my Stampin’ Write® Markers and an Aquapainter. The faux suede strips run vertically down the card and I used Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware (on special this month) and Hemp Twine to try and recreate the look of a laced up work boot. Finally the sentiment in the bottom left corner is from the Loads of Love Accessories stamp set.

You should absolutely try this – it was really easy to do. It took longer for me to put this card together than it took to make the faux suede strips. If you do get a sample made, please come back and post a comment and a link to your card – I’d love to see it!

Happy Stamping,
