Tour #7, Stop #3: Crazy for Cupcakes

Welcome to Blog Tour #7, Stop #3

Hi, I’m Jen Clendineng and my projects all feature the Crazy for Cupcakes stamp set and matching wheel.

blogtourcupcakes01Project 1 was inspired by a card on Andrea Walford’s blog.  I used Chocolate Chip, Rose Red, Regal Rose and Whisper White card stock.  I stamped the cupcake image four times, once on the white, once on the Chocolate Patterns DSP, once on Regal Rose and once on Rose Red.  I also used the cherry from Tart & Tangy stamped in Rose Red on Rose Red card stock.

blogtourcupcakes02I sponged around the edges of each piece of card stock before I pieced the cupcake together.  The white circle was cut using the Coluzzle.  I used my slit punch to make the large scalloped circles (since I don’t have a Big Shot).  A few touches from the White Gel Pen and poof!  All done!

blogtourcupcakes03Project 2 highlights the Cupcakes wheel.  I rolled the wheel in chocolate Chip ink on Chocolate Chip card stock repeatedly to create the background “paper”.  Next, I rolled the wheel once on Whisper White in order to faux spotlight the single cupcake.  I colored the single cupcake with my Stampin’ Write Markers and cut it out.  A little bit of SNAIL hold it in place.  The sentiment I stamped in Whisper White Craft Ink to make sure it would show up, but not distract from the background.  The ribbon is Pretty in Pink taffeta ribbon.

blogtourcupcakes04Project 3 is a Christmas Card featuring these adorable cupcakes.  I did a lot of masking and spent some quality time with my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the Christmas tree, but it was definitely worth it!  The cherries are Riding Hood Red and the cupcake wrappers are Kiwi Kiss (colored with a blender pen and ink pads).

blogtourcupcakes05I had to sketch in the platter with my Basic Black marker; it’s colored with Close to Cocoa.  I stamped the sentiment from Crazy for Cupcakes in Riding Hood Red and used the “Christmas” from Every day Flexible Phrases.  A Kiwi Kiss flower button from the Button Bouquet and a bit of the Kiwi Satin Ribbon made the list of embellishments.  And what would a cupcake Christmas tree be without glitter!  A light sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds seals the deal of Christmas magic!

Thanks for stopping by!  Please leave a comment to let me know what you think!   Also, don’t forget to bookmark me because the links disappear at midnight on May 16th.

And now, let me introduce my colleague, Tina Taves.  Over at her blog “Life’s Randomness”, Tina is featuring the Cheers to You stamp set.

So, hop back on the tour bus, ’cause we’re pulling out!
