Let’s go fly a kite…

So, this past week at work, my DH had a kite contest.  So last Thursday night, he said, “Hey, wanna make me a kite?”  I asked him all sorts of questions about size, criteria, flying ability and he didn’t give me any helpful answers.  So, this is what I came up with.

A desktop kite.

I used SU Bold Brights cardstock to piece together the kite and some black ribbon from wally world to hide the seams.  The inside frame is two white lollipop sticks tied together with thread.  The stand is a giant paper clip I unfolded.  I had a small wood block that I made a small hole in, to create the base.  I decorated the base with a 2-4-6-8 box that I sponged clouds onto.

The tail is silver elastic cord that I tied small pieces of grosgrain ribbon onto.  The bottom red tassel is a super short piece of red grosgrain that I frayed by pulling the cross threads.

And finally, since the day I was taking pictures had such a beautiful background, here’s my little desktop kite “flying”.

Happy Stamping!
