White Window
This card is way out of my comfort zone. Honestly I’m not really even sure how I ended up with this. It started with a solid white card that I was trying to make simple. I messed up some things and this is what happened.
Whisper White card stock, Tart & Tangy stamp set, Scallop Edge punch, non-SU spotted ribbon.
I took a scrap of card stock and my 1 3/8 inch square punch to make a dry embossing template. Then I embossed four squares in a grid pattern that, when I was done, reminded me of a window. So I took a strip of whisper white, scalloped the edge and made a window valance. The cherries are stamped in Real Red and Wild Wasabi and were just pleading for the red spotted ribbon. The right edge of the card front took a hit from the scallop edge punch and that’s it!
I messed around trying lots of different things – I was trying to make the card into something. In the end, the best results came when I quit fighting the creative flow and just let the card make itself. Does that happen to you?
Anyway…here’s a shot from the side so you can see the embossing. (I added a spotlight-type effect to the photo.)
It feels good to be posting again. Life just goes faster than I can keep up sometimes. I hope you’re all doing well!
Happy Stamping!
