Birthday Cupcakes
Well, here is one of several cards that I’ve been working on lately. I really thought the idea for this card was better than the way it turned out. Doesn’t everything look better in your head?
I used Whisper White card stock for the base. Next I stamped the big cupcake from “Crazy for Cupcakes” in the center. Then I made a mask and stamped again on either side of the center, made some more masks and stamped the cupcake until I reached the edge of the card.
After that, I pulled out some retired DSP “East Coast Prep” and stamped the cupcake bottoms on different patterns. I cut out the bottom of each cupcake and pieced it together on the card. For the candles, I created a reverse mask and sponged in Wild Wasabi ink to fill in the candles.
Finally, for the sprinkles, I wanted something with a little dimension, so I used some fabric puffy paint. I’m not sure what I think of it. It didn’t puff up quite as much as I was hoping for. Maybe some stickles would have worked better.
Oh, well. Mental note for next time. Thanks for checking in!
Happy Stamping!
