Stampin’ Up! (R) Punches save the day!

This past week was my daughter’s 4th birthday. She got lots of nice cards in the mail and some fun presents, but needless to say, she is a girly girl and loves clothes and has discovered the fabulous world of nail polish since her birthday last week. Well, one of her new birthday outfits was an adorable green t-shirt & skirt with a glittery rainbow on the front. So, when I went to write a thank you note, I just had to try this out.

I used a Whisper White card base with a Regal Rose layer, then a narrower, but longer Certainly Celery layer, and another Whisper White layer.

The dress is made entirely with Stampin’ Up! (R) punches: the bodice is the large tag punch and the skirt is the word window punch. I used some retired narrow grosgrain (Rose) for the waist and the straps. Two silver brads hold the straps in place.

Finally, the only stamping on the card uses the “giggle” stamp from the Warm Words set.

I was just really pleased at the way this turned out. I managed to convey the light & cute attitude the outfit had.

The card that inspired this one was posted in the demo side of the Stampin’ Up! (R) website. Jamie Hurley used the large oval punch for the skirt and word window punches folded in half for the straps.

These would make great invitations for a girl’s birthday tea party or even a princess party using the shimmery white cardstock. You could go lots of ways with this cute dress. If you decide to make a dress, please post a comment here with a link to your card. I’d love to see your take on this!

Happy stamping!

  2. That is very clever. As the owner of 200 punches, I’m always interested in new ways to use them.
