Card Purse
Wow. This has been a crazy weekend! My husband’s family was here for Thanksgiving & Christmas festivities, so all day Friday & Saturday my house was full of people, food, and presents. And now that I’ve had a day to breathe again, all I’m left with is a giant mess to clean up. But, such is the way of the holidays.
Anyway…the exciting part is – now that I’ve gifted these things, I can post them for you to see what exactly has been keeping me busy for the last month or so.
This is a version of the Bag-in-a-Box that was altered by Andrea Walford so that it would be large enough to hold standard sized greeting cards. My mother-in-law enjoys sending cards to people so I usually make her a set of blank cards for a gift. This one was no exception.
I used the retired Rose Red Prints designer series paper and the new stamp set A Rose is a Rose. The colors are Regal Rose, Rose Red, Certainly Celery, Old Olive & Whisper White. I stamped the largest rose onto Whisper White, stamped a leaf next to it, and then cut the whole image out with my craft knife (but you could use paper snips too). Next I cut a strip of Whisper White and punched both edges with my Scallop Edge punch. I took my 1/8 inch hand-held punch to punch a hole in each scallop to mimic the look of lace. Finally I used a piece of Rose narrow grosgrain ribbon to add the feeling of fabric. The large rose is adhered with dimensionals, but I used SNAIL for everything else.

I have to get back to cleaning now, but I have lots more gift ideas to show you, so please come back tomorrow!
Have a great week!
