Finished cake
I think I have the finished product now. It doesn’t look too fancy, but there’s just a little bit more pizazz than the plain cake.
I asked around for ideas and got tons of good ones. I wish I had more cakes to top with all these great ideas! In the end, I decided that I would use the scalloped Christmas tree. Most of the trees I saw used the Big Shot. (Which I still do not own) So I just cut a triangle the right shape and used my scallop edge punch on it. Well, technically, I cut four triangles. I cut them and punched them and swiped the newly scalloped edges with Whisper White Craft ink to match the small trees. I let that dry for a while and then added some curly grosgrain ribbon to the top of each tree. Then I used sticky strip to adhere the four Christmas trees together.
It feels good to finally have this project finished. I had a really good time making it, but it was a big enough job that when I could only do a little bit at a time (had to work it in around those three silly things called My Kids) it seems like it took forever. I’m excited that I can finally move on to the next element in my Holiday Place Setting.
As a quick little recap, here’s the progress pictures for each stage of the cake and links to the original posts.
Oh, and one thing I almost forgot, here is the link to the cake pattern I used: Tiered Cake Pattern. Let me know if you have any questions on how to make the cake or the supplies I used. I’m sure there’s probably something I forgot to post, so just leave me a comment or send me an email.
Happy Stamping!
This turned out really great. I love the trees you created without the big shot..
