Pun Fun Bird-day Card

Happy Memorial Day! I hope you’re enjoying some time with family today!

Towards the end of last week, I was playing with my East Coast Prep DS paper and found a great card sketch to copy. And, I would love to show you the original, but I cannot remember where I found it. I have been looking and looking but have yet to find it. (That’ll teach me not to bookmark things.)

Anyway…I used Real Red for the card base and cut a piece of the double sided East Coast Prep designer series paper to fit the card front. Next I stamped the bird from Pun Fun in Staz-on Jet Black on Whisper White and colored him in with inkpads & a blender pen. I mounted the birthday bird on Wild Wasabi and then again on Real Red.

I cut another piece of the East Coast Prep paper, but flipped it over and used the spotted design. I used my Slit Punch to make the scalloped edges and mounted it on Wild Wasabi. I don’t have any Real Red ribbon, so I cut a thin little strip of Real Red cardstock and slid it through a ribbon slide from the Pewter Hodgepodge Hardware kit. With a little SNAIL, everything got stuck together and then I mounted the birthday bird with dimensionals. The three small circles are cardstock punched out with the 3/16″ side of my Crop-a-dile. Again, I didn’t have any Real Red brads, so I had to come up with something else. I thought these circles came out a great size and a little bit of SNAIL stuck them down tight!

So, it’s not your traditional Red, White & Blue card, but it’s definitely warm and fun! Have a great Memorial Day and a great week!

Happy stamping!
