Family Thank You

Here’s a card I put together Friday afternoon. It’s a thank you card for two women in my church. They called me in the middle of last week and said “Can we come by this afternoon and help you with your housework?”

After I pinched myself to make sure I wasn’t dreaming, I said sure. And, that afternoon they came over and helped me scrub my kitchen clean. It hasn’t been this clean in my kitchen since we moved in a year ago! It was a great treat and so nice to have their help.

They are currently working on building this into a ministry program where they would have a list of moms to help and would offer their services free of charge.

Anyway…this is the card I came up with to say Thank You. I used a Soft Sky card base and Purely Pomegranate mat. The family members (yes, that is me and my three kids) are stamped in Basic Black on Whisper White card stock. I colored them in with ink pads and a blender pen. The background is the Neighborhood wheel in Versamark ink. The ribbon is non-SU (sorry) but I just love it. It matches the colors perfectly for something off brand.

It seems a little weird to have left my hubby off the card, but really it was a blessing for mommy. Sure, daddy likes a clean house too, but it meant a lot more to me. I hope they can get this ministry going – I know there are more mommies out there who could use a little help now and then.

Do you know any mommies who could use a little help? Don’t wait for them to call you. Call them up and find out the best time to just fold a load of laundry or run some dishes through the dishwasher. A little thoughtfulness goes a long way.

To all my fellow mommies out there: Hang in there. Kids are tough but it’s worth it. You are doing a great job with them. Way to go, Mom!
