Another take on the Afternoon Quickie

Hey all!  I hope you all got a chance to watch the Afternoon Quickie video yesterday.  Because I got a very sweet comment from Stephenie who wanted to CASE this card:

Well, sure, I said!  I’d love to see what you come up with!  And so she did:

Isn’t it awesome???  I love that she took the [...]

Afternoon Quickie

Color Challenge Flower

So, I subscribe to Kristina Werner’s blog and I’ve been waiting for her 50th Color Challenge with much excitement!  So, here is her challenge:

And here’s what I came up with:

I used patterns from MelStampz (which is amazing by the way, you should totally go check out all the free templates and tutorials!) and Mirkwood Designs.

Technique of the Week: Reverse Masking

The first thing you’ll want to do is choose a shape for your mask. You can use a punch of any size or a square, circle, rectangle – whatever you like. Here, I’m using my Coluzzle to cut an oval big enough for this rose image from Inkadinkadoo.

Soulful Sunday

The teacher asked the pupils to tell the meaning of lovingkindness.  A little boy jumped up and said, “Well, if I was hungry and someone gave me a piece of bread that would be kindness.  But if they put a little jelly on it, that would be lovingkindness.”

Noteable Posts

Laurie Schmidlin made this adorable gift card holder.  I love the pink and black!
Taylor VanBruggen created this adorable kitty card (I’m a cat person though, so I might be a bit bias) plus this weeks Cupcake Challenge sketch looks like a lot of fun, although I have yet to try it out.
You have got to [...]

My antique flowered dictionary

Okay, so I was reading through my blog reader and came across this card by Sophia Landry.  I also included it in my Noteable Posts last week.  But, I was so inspired that I had to create my own card.

I happened to have an old dictionary that I had been saving for this very purpose.  [...]

A simple cup of coffee

This is new stamp I bought from Joanns online. It’s made by Inkadinkadoo. I’m totally a sucker for these sketchy type stamps! With this card I used my markers and colored directly on the rubber. I was hoping I colored the right areas the right colors because it’s hard to tell [...]

Afternoon Quickie

Hi everyone.  I’m going to post today’s Afternoon Quickie in the morning since I didn’t get a new project posted for you yesterday.  I was actually working feverishly to finish editing the video and just kept running into one problem after another.  But, anyway…

Happy Stamping!

Technique of the Week: Masking

You’ll need a stamp or stamps, one (or more) ink pads, good card stock, and scratch paper (I like to use sticky notes).

Ink up your stamp and stamp it on the good card stock.  Stamp it again on the scratch paper.  This is your mask, so it doesn’t need to be a nice clear image.

Cut [...]
