Altered Shelf

This shelf is one I picked up in the clearance aisle after Christmas.  It’s original contents were bath related.    I have more than enough smell-good soap, so I unloaded it and took the shelf hostage.  Here’s my plain white shelf just begging for a makeover:

I knew I wanted it to match the theme [...]

Technique of the Week: Spotlighting

One of several new blog features I’m starting is called the Technique of the Week.  Hopefully every Monday I’ll have a different technique to share with you.  I will make a mini-tutorial with step-by-step instructions that will help you see how to repeat this technique on your own.
This week’s technique is Spotlighting.  Here is a [...]

Soulful Sunday

“Life – your life – is The Party to which you’re invited.  Show up and dance ’til you break the straps on your shoes.
That means refusing to sit out a number.  Dance them all and don’t worry about the steps.”

I am not a good dancer.  Really.  Except for a few swing moves I [...]

Regionals swap card reject

It’s not a bad card, I kinda think it’s cute.  But I had some frustration designing it, and by the time I was done, I was NOT interested in making 20 of these as swap cards.  But it would be great as birthday thank you’s!

I used the Flower Trio punch to make the cherry blossoms and I traced a tree onto the [...]

Okay…so this little basket was so inspiring for me, I just got to work immediately!  Today’s technique lover’s challenge was this mini easter basket by Claire Brennan.   Once you see this basket, you’ll want to try it yourself!  I couldn’t believe how cute it was and just couldn’t resist.  So, to save you a step [...]

Woo Hoo – 2 weeks until regionals!

My sister was here visiting last week and we spent a good amount of time working on swap cards for the Stampin’ Up! Minneapolis Regionals coming up on April 4.  It was tons of fun!
I’m super excited to attend my first Stampin’ Up! event and even more excited that I was able to [...]

Let’s go fly a kite…

So, this past week at work, my DH had a kite contest.  So last Thursday night, he said, “Hey, wanna make me a kite?”  I asked him all sorts of questions about size, criteria, flying ability and he didn’t give me any helpful answers.  So, this is what I came up with.

A desktop kite.
I used [...]

Happy St Patrick’s Day!

Inspiration challenge

Hello all.  I was finally able to complete my card for the inspiration challenge on splitcoast stampers.  It was IC171 – Fitz & Floyd, and what I found as inspiration was this beautiful set of pottery.

I just loved the colors and the vine/flower design.  It took a while for me to decide how to get [...]
